Registering as a Subscriber
We urge our readers to become registered subscribers. There is no fee involved. While anyone can read our web site, registered subscribers will receive:
- e-mail notification when an issue is complete, with a listing of its contents
- the opportunity to recommend future directions for the journal
- occasional notification of special journal features tailored to their interests.
Please use the registration form to register.
Why do we have this category?
The journal has been started as a labor of love by the people involved, and with the generous assistance of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory and NASA’s Office of Space Science. We will ultimately need to find funding to ensure continued operation. Since we are committed to keeping the journal free to subscribers, we will need to approach funding agencies and foundations, who will want to know how many educators (and what kinds of educators) are reading the journal. They may also want us to survey our readers to find out if the journal is useful in their work. (And we ourselves will want to know these things as well.)
We need your help in determining the demographics of our readers. We already track the number of times the journal is accessed each month, but we do not have any records of where those accesses originate. Therefore, would you please take the time to fill out the brief registration form. We know that you already get a lot of junk e-mail and that you worry about giving your e-mail address out. Those of us running the journal are committed to restricting access to your name and e-mail to those purposes connected with the journal and astronomy education.
